Electric Longboard

In my first semester at Boston University, I had two consecutive classes at opposite ends of a mile long campus. The BU shuttle was unreliable and I didn't want to keep paying for public transportation. Taking inspiration from existing products on the market, I designed a custom electric longboard.

As a young student with limited engineering knowledge and experience, this project forced me to research motors, batteries, speed controllers, and how they all work together to create a functioning electro-mechanical system. I also wanted to create a custom modular electronics box, which meant I needed to buy a 3D printer and learn how to use it. After months of research, I was ready to purchase and 3D print all the components needed to build the board.
